Numerical study of natural convection in an annulus between two concentric cylinders provided with metal foam fins

Natural convection in an annular space provided with metal foam fins attached to the inner cylinder is studied numerically. The made of copper were inserted different axial sections three each section. temperature kept constant while outer surface adiabatic. thickness effect pipe wall was considered. Naiver Stokes equation Boussinesq approximation used for fluid regime Brinkman-Forchheimer Darcy model foam. In addition, local thermal non-equilibrium condition energy porous media presumed. Rayleigh number and direction, on flow heat transfer characteristics, examined. current valid available published results good agreement noticed. Results showed that as increases dominated mode average Nusselt increases. It found at 106 reached its higher value which 4.6 case adding seven foams. A comparison between established a range numbers 104 106. enhancement greatest percentage 45.9% equal using fins.
